Release: 26 February 2003 FRENCH CONSUMERS AT AGRI SHOW IN PARIS ENJOY BRITISH BEEF AND WELSH LAMB British Beef, of which some is supplied from Welsh farms and processed by St Merryn Foods in Wales, is being well received by French consumers at 'SIA Agri' in Paris (22 February - 2 March) reports farmer co-operative Welsh Lamb & Beef Promotions Ltd (WLPB). The co-operative has a major presence at the show, representing all the processing sectors from Wales including Oriel Jones & Son Ltd, Welsh Country Foods, Cwmni Cig Arfon, Cig Mon Cymru, Hamer International, H M Bennetts, and St Merryn Foods. WLBP is based in the Livestock Hall as a part of the MLC stand where British Beef, of which some is Welsh, and Welsh Lamb is being provided as a taster to consumers and visitors to the stand at the Show which is open to consumers, farmers and the trade. Huge interest in the presence from Britain, Wales and Scotland at the Show has been shown by the French media, where TV footage of the French consumers eating and enjoying the beef has been played on the main French TV channels. On the WLBP Ltd stand pre-packed Welsh Lamb under the Agneau Gallois; Agneau des Collines Galloises Demi-Agneau (Welsh Mountain Half Lamb); Certifie Gallois (vac packed range of cuts); retail packs, primal cuts and Celtic Pride retail cuts are on display. This show comes on the back of a successful retail promotion for Welsh Lamb with the major French retailer 'Monoprix', whilst Welsh Lamb is being promoted and sold at 'Metro' stores in the Paris area until June 2003.
